6 Reasons Pakistani Families Choose Jiujiang University
Jiujiang University suits Pakistani families who want a predictable, affordable MBBS with hospital training that holds up. The six reasons below explain what your child gains here that a cheaper unverified campus cannot match.
1
Tuition Held Flat at CNY 20,000 for All Six Years
A campus that lifts its fee every academic year leaves your family guessing at the true six-year cost, and the gap can run into lakhs. Jiujiang University holds tuition at CNY 20,000 for each of the six years, with hostel at CNY 5,000 a year. Your family plans the full degree from Year 1, and MTZ confirms every figure in PKR before you pay.
2
Two Grade 3 Class A Hospitals for Ward Training
A small affiliated hospital means short ward time and few rotation slots, so your child reaches internship under-prepared. Jiujiang University runs two directly affiliated hospitals, both rated Grade 3 Class A, the highest classification in China’s hospital system. Your child rotates through real departments and real patient loads, not classroom simulations alone.
3
On the PMDC List, So Your Child Can Sit the NLE
A degree from a school missing off the PMDC list cannot lead to a Pakistani licence, whatever a brochure promised. Jiujiang University Medical College sits on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list, verified at pmdc.pk on 4 June 2026. Your child graduates eligible to sit the NLE and register to practise in Pakistan.
4
Final Internship Year Can Be Completed in Pakistan
The final clinical year spent far from home can add another year of hostel and tuition your family pays in full. Jiujiang University allows the Year 6 internship to be completed in Pakistan, subject to the university’s policy in that year, which removes Year 6 university tuition and hostel. Your child finishes closer to home and your family keeps that cost.
5
Chinese to HSK-4 Means Real Patient Conversations
English-only training leaves your child at a Chinese patient’s bedside unable to take a history in the patient’s language. Jiujiang University teaches medicine in English while building your child’s Chinese to HSK-4 before clinical years begin. Your child speaks with patients directly on the wards, the part of training an interpreter cannot replace.
6
Pakistani-Compatible International Intake Since 2007
A campus new to hosting South Asian students is still working out halal food, hostel support, and arrival logistics as your child lands. Jiujiang University has admitted international MBBS students since 2007 and now hosts 200+ students from more than 10 countries in its international dormitory. Your child joins a settled community, not a first experiment.
MBBS Fees at Jiujiang University 2026: Full Breakdown for Pakistani Families
Every fee on this page comes from Jiujiang University’s official admissions figures. MTZ separates tuition, hostel, living costs, and one-time charges so your family can budget with real numbers, not estimates.
MTZ COMMITMENT: All fees confirmed in writing before any payment is requested. You receive a full breakdown in CNY and indicative PKR. No payment is made without written confirmation from MTZ.

Exchange Rate Notice, Read Before Budgeting
The rupee cost of this degree moves with the exchange rate across six years, so plan on a rate higher than the display figure.
Exchange Rate Notice — Read Before Budgeting
For budgeting and financial planning, MTZ advises families to use a conservative rate of PKR 42 to PKR 45 per CNY to account for exchange rate movement over the 6-year degree.
PKR figures above are indicative only, calculated at 1 CNY = PKR 40. The actual PKR cost on the date of payment depends on the prevailing CNY-PKR exchange rate. The CNY-PKR rate fluctuates. MTZ will provide the exact PKR figure at the time of application based on the rate on that date. WhatsApp MTZ Islamabad or Lahore for the current PKR breakdown before making any payment decision.

General note on living costs: The figures above are a conservative planning range. In practice, most Pakistani students at Jiujiang University cook their own halal meals in the shared dormitory kitchen and split grocery costs with roommates, so real monthly living often runs around CNY 500 to 600 all-in, below this range. Students who eat in the canteen daily or eat out sit at the higher end.
6-Year Total Cost Estimate
Two totals are shown. The full total assumes all six years are spent in China. The reduced total applies if your child completes the Year 6 internship in Pakistan, which removes Year 6 university tuition and hostel where the university’s policy that year allows it.

| Health insurance | All 6 years | 4,800 | 192,000 |
| Reduced 6-year total (mid estimate) | 173,000 | 6,920,000 |
Note: the Year 6 internship-in-Pakistan reduction depends on Jiujiang University’s policy in that academic year. It removes Year 6 university tuition and hostel only. Living costs in Pakistan are not erased. MTZ confirms the current internship policy in writing before you rely on the reduced total.
The 6-year total above excludes: one-time fees, flights, exchange rate movements. MTZ advises families to plan a 2 to 3 month PKR buffer above the indicative total.
Can Your Child Apply for MBBS at Jiujiang University?
Jiujiang University sets its own entry requirements, and PMDC sets additional conditions for Pakistani students. Both apply. The table below covers the university-specific requirements. Confirm PMDC’s current MDCAT requirement at pmdc.pk before applying.
Academic Requirements (Jiujiang University-Specific)
Minimum 60% (or equivalent)
Minimum 50%, a PMDC condition for Pakistani students. Confirm current status at pmdc.pk.
Required before the clinical years, Year 1 is Chinese-language study; not required at admission
18 to 25 years at the point of admission
Medicine is taught in English; no test demanded at entry, IELTS or TOEFL not required.
Jiujiang University admits applicants in good general health who are fit for a six-year medical programme. Your child completes a medical examination on arrival in China, costing CNY 560 in Year 1, which confirms fitness to study before registration is finalised. Conditions that would prevent clinical training must be disclosed to MTZ during the eligibility check so nothing surfaces after travel.
Before any application reaches the Jiujiang University International Office, MTZ checks your child’s FSc Pre-Medical and Matric marksheets, the MDCAT result against the 50% PMDC floor, and passport validity for the full study period. MTZ also confirms the IBCC equivalence pathway and the attestation route through IBCC and MOFA, so the file is complete on first submission and your child does not lose an intake to a missing document.
Your child must reach HSK Level 4 before clinical years begin to progress in the MBBS at Jiujiang University. This is a language proficiency requirement, not optional. Year 1 is set aside for Chinese-language study, so no HSK certificate is needed to apply or to start. MTZ briefs every student and family on this before any commitment is made.
How MTZ Applies Pakistani Students to Jiujiang University
The steps below cover the Jiujiang University application only. For the full general MBBS application process for China, see our complete guide at /mbbs-in-china/.
Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities is Non-MOE listed and runs a self-financed MBBS. The exact visa form is confirmed by the university at the Admission Letter stage, and MTZ verifies it on the file before the visa appointment.
Step 1
Free eligibility check with MTZ
Your family sends FSc, MDCAT, and passport details to MTZ for a free review against Jiujiang University’s 60% FSc and 50% MDCAT floors. MTZ confirms in writing whether your child qualifies before any fee is discussed.
Step 2
Document preparation
MTZ guides your family through IBCC equivalence and attestation of academic documents through IBCC and MOFA. Clean documents at this stage stop delays later in the Jiujiang University file.
Step 3
Application Submission to Jiujiang University
MTZ submits your child’s completed file to the Jiujiang University International Office and pays the combined application and registration charge of CNY 600 to 800 once you confirm. MTZ tracks the file until the university responds.
Step4
Admission Letter Issuance
Jiujiang University reviews the file and issues the admission letter for your child. Some applicants may be asked for a short online interview before the offer, at the university’s discretion; where that happens, MTZ briefs your child on the format beforehand. MTZ checks every detail on the letter against your child’s documents before it goes forward.
Step 5
JW202 Form
Jiujiang University is Non-MOE listed. A JW202 form is still required for your child’s X1 Student Visa application, and MTZ obtains it alongside the admission letter so the visa file is complete.
Step 6
PMDC No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Before your child travels for medicine abroad, PMDC requires a No Objection Certificate. MTZ guides your family through the NOC on the basis of the 60% FSc threshold, so your child’s NLE pathway is protected from the start.
Step 7
X1 Student Visa at CVASC
MTZ prepares your child’s X1 Student Visa application and submits it through CVASC in Islamabad, Lahore, or Karachi. MTZ reviews the full document set before lodgement to avoid a refusal on a technicality.
Step 8
Arrival, Registration, and Residence Permit
On arrival, MTZ-arranged pickup takes your child to campus for registration, the CNY 560 medical check, and the Year 1 residence permit. MTZ also briefs your child on the HSK-4 plan and fee reconfirmation before travel so your child starts settled rather than scrambling.
For the full general process for Pakistani families, see the MBBS in China application guide for Pakistan.
Where Can Your Child Practise After MBBS from Jiujiang University?
Jiujiang University is PMDC-approved and listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. These recognitions set the licensing pathways open to your child, covered below. For the full country-by-country comparison across all 29 MTZ universities, see /mbbs-china-licensing/.
PMDC Recognition and NLE Pathway (Pakistan)
Jiujiang University Medical College sits on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list, verified at pmdc.pk on 4 June 2026. That listing lets your child sit the National Licensing Examination (NLE) in Pakistan and register to practise after passing. MTZ re-checks the PMDC list before placing every student, since the list updates periodically. Verify at official source
WDOMS Listing (World Directory of Medical Schools)
Jiujiang University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools at search.wdoms.org. This listing is the entry condition most international licensing bodies check first, and it confirms your child’s medical school is recognised internationally, not only in China. Verify at official source
ECFMG Eligibility (USA Pathway)
Jiujiang University’s WDOMS listing supports ECFMG eligibility for graduates who wish to pursue US residency. Your child can apply for ECFMG certification and sit the USMLE steps after graduation, opening the United States pathway. MTZ confirms current ECFMG requirements with your family before any plan rests on this route. Verify at official source
MOE Listed vs Non-MOE Listed Universities: Which Suits You?
The 29 PMDC-approved Chinese medical universities where MTZ places Pakistani students split into two categories. Understanding the difference is the single most important decision a Pakistani family makes after committing to MBBS in China.
| Factor | MOE-Listed 13 | Non-MOE Listed (16) |
|---|---|---|
| Medium of instruction | English-medium throughout | Bilingual: English-taught medicine with Chinese for clinical communication |
| HSK-4 requirement | Not required for clinical progression | Required in Year 1 before clinical years |
| Annual cost (PKR, indicative) | Higher, roughly PKR 1.6 million to 3 million all-in | Lower, roughly PKR 1.4 million to 1.8 million all-in |

| NMC India / BMDC Bangladesh | Applies to those countries’ students | Applies to those countries’ students |
| Typical student profile | Higher budget, wants English-only study | Cost-focused, willing to learn Chinese to HSK-4 |
| MTZ recommendation | Choose if budget allows English-only study | Choose for affordability and same PMDC pathway, if your child commits to HSK-4 |
NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh apply to those countries’ students only. Pakistani students are unaffected by NMC or BMDC. PMDC recognises both MOE listed and Non-MOE listed universities.
Where Jiujiang University Sits
Jiujiang University is Non-MOE listed. Your child studies a bilingual MBBS, reaches HSK-4 before clinical years, pays on the lower cost side, and graduates on the same PMDC and NLE pathway as an MOE-listed campus. The trade is learning Chinese to HSK-4 in exchange for a lower six-year cost.

Refund Policy and Risk Flags: Read Before You Pay
Every family needs to understand what is refundable and what is not before any payment is made to Jiujiang University or to MTZ.
Refund Policy
Application and registration fee
Non-refundable once the application is submitted to Jiujiang University
Tuition fee
Governed by Jiujiang University’s refund policy; not refundable after enrolment in most cases
Hostel deposit
Subject to dormitory terms; deductions may apply for damage
X1 visa rejection
MTZ advises on the refund position case by case; university charges already paid follow the university’s policy
MTZ service fee
Terms set out in your written MTZ agreement before any payment
Risk Flags MTZ Issues Before You Commit
Age Limit
Jiujiang University admits applicants aged 18 to 25. If your child falls outside this range at the intake date, the application will not proceed, so confirm the age position with MTZ before preparing documents.
Application Deadline
The September intake closes for applications on 15 August. A file submitted late waits for the next intake, which can cost your child a full academic cycle. MTZ starts files early to protect the date.
Document Quality
A weak or incorrectly attested document set is the most common cause of delay. Missing IBCC equivalence or MOFA attestation can stall the application, so MTZ checks every document before submission.
PMDC List Changes
PMDC recognition lists update periodically. A university on the list today may change status, which affects NLE eligibility. MTZ re-verifies Jiujiang University at pmdc.pk before placing every student.
Scholarships for MBBS Students at Jiujiang University
Read this section carefully before any agent tells you a scholarship is guaranteed. MTZ’s position on scholarships is stated below in full. It does not change based on what you want to hear.
Some partner universities offer merit-based awards to high-performing MBBS students from their second year, based on academic performance — these are the university’s independent decisions and are not guaranteed at admission. MTZ Global Visa Consultants does not assure or guarantee scholarships for MBBS study in China. For fully funded MS and PhD scholarships, see our Global Scholarships hub.
Jiujiang University scholarship streams (factual, not guaranteed):
Jiujiang University merit award
From Year 2
University’s independent decision, based on academic performance, not guaranteed at admission
Jiangxi provincial government scholarship
Selective
Where offered to international students, awarded at the province’s discretion; confirm current availability
Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)

What MTZ Will Not Promise for Jiujiang University
CEO Mubbashir Qureshi brings 25+ years of personal experience to every application MTZ handles. We have seen what happens when consultants overpromise. Here is our position, in writing.
What MTZ Will Not Do
Admission to Jiujiang University is the university’s decision, and MTZ will not promise a seat before the International Office issues an admission letter.
Fees and the PKR figure move with the exchange rate, so MTZ will not lock a rupee total that the rate on payment day may break.
Your child’s academic results rest on your child’s work, and no agent can promise grades or a smooth pass through the HSK-4 requirement.
Scholarships at Jiujiang University are the university’s independent decision from Year 2, never guaranteed at admission, and MTZ will not pretend otherwise.
PMDC policy on MDCAT and the recognised-institutions list can change, and MTZ will not promise that today’s rule holds for every future intake.
Visa timelines sit with CVASC and the Chinese authorities, so MTZ will not promise an exact issue date for the X1 visa.
Clinical placement is set by Jiujiang University’s affiliated hospitals, and MTZ will not overstate rotation slots or ward access beyond what the university provides.
What MTZ Commits To
Before every placement, MTZ re-verifies Jiujiang University on the PMDC list at pmdc.pk so your child’s NLE eligibility rests on a current check.
You receive a written fee breakdown in CNY and indicative PKR, with no charge requested until you confirm it.
Honest six-year reachability is what MTZ plans for: the full cost, the HSK-4 gate, and the timeline, stated up front.
Where an X1 visa is refused on a correctable point, MTZ resubmits under its written resubmission policy rather than walking away.
MTZ places students only at verified, PMDC-recognised universities, and will not send your child to an unverified campus to close a sale.
Jiujiang University: Campus and City
Where your child studies shapes the full 6-year experience. Here is exactly what the Jiujiang University campus and the city of Jiujiang look like on the ground.
The Campus
Jiujiang University took its present form in 2006, when four Jiujiang colleges merged, with medical teaching roots that trace back to 1901. The main campus sits in the Lushan District of Jiujiang and spreads across a large riverside site with its own libraries, laboratories, and an international student dormitory. Your child studies medicine in English on this campus while building Chinese to HSK-4, and reaches the affiliated hospitals for clinical training from Year 3. The campus runs a Muslim canteen and a prayer room for international students, so daily religious and dietary needs are met without leaving the grounds.
The City: Jiujiang, Jiangxi
Jiujiang is a riverside city in northern Jiangxi, set where the Yangtze River meets Poyang Lake at the foot of Mount Lu. The city is mid-sized by Chinese standards, calmer and cheaper to live in than Beijing, Shanghai, or Wuhan, which suits a student on a careful budget. The climate is humid subtropical: summers are hot and humid, winters are cool and damp, so your child packs for both ends. High-speed rail links Jiujiang to Nanchang and Wuhan within a couple of hours, and the nearest air access runs through Jiujiang Lushan Airport and the larger Nanchang Changbei International Airport. Halal restaurants, a city mosque, and markets selling halal meat and groceries are within reach for Pakistani students.

“Jiujiang University is not recognised by PMDC”

Medicine at Jiujiang University is taught in English. Your child also builds Chinese to HSK-4 before clinical years, which is for speaking with patients on the wards, not for sitting lectures.

“Chinese MBBS degrees are not accepted anywhere outside Pakistan”
Jiujiang University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, which supports applications to ECFMG for the USA, UKMLA-PLAB for the UK, and AMC for Australia. The degree reaches well beyond Pakistan.

“Jiujiang is too extreme for Pakistani students”
Jiujiang has a humid subtropical climate, with hot summers and cool, damp winters, not an extreme one. It is a mid-sized riverside city with halal food, a mosque, and a settled international student community.
