6 Reasons Pakistani Families Choose Hubei University of Arts and Science
Hubei University of Arts and Science runs its medical education from a campus in Xiangyang built in 2024, beside the Grade 3A hospital where your child will train. These six points set out what that arrangement gives your child that a thinner Non-MOE programme cannot.
1
Tuition That Holds at CNY 18,000 Every Year
Many Non-MOE programmes advertise a low first-year fee, then lift tuition sharply once your child is two years in and cannot move without losing credits. Hubei University of Arts and Science keeps Clinical Medicine tuition at CNY 18,000 for each academic year, so your family plans against one figure across the degree and meets no jump in Year 3 or Year 4.
2
Clinical Medicine in the ESI Global Top 1%
A medical programme with no measurable research standing leaves your child taught by a faculty that publishes little and sits outside the international science indices. At Hubei University of Arts and Science, Clinical Medicine entered the Essential Science Indicators global top 1% in 2020, the band that marks the most-cited disciplines worldwide, which tells your family the teaching faculty is research-active.
3
A Programme China’s Ministry of Education Accredited in 2021
If your child enrols in a programme that never cleared national accreditation, the degree carries a question mark that follows your child into every licensing application. Hubei University of Arts and Science passed China’s Ministry of Education professional accreditation for Clinical Medicine in 2021, and the Hubei provincial authority named it a first-class undergraduate construction point in 2022.
4
A Directly Affiliated Grade 3A Hospital With Two National Key Specialties
A medical school tied to one small hospital cannot hand your child rotation breadth, and a borrowed teaching hospital can end the arrangement before your child reaches the clinical years. Hubei University of Arts and Science integrated Xiangyang Central Hospital as its own directly affiliated Grade 3A hospital, which holds two national-level key clinical specialties in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Oncology plus 41 provincial-level key specialties, and your child rotates there alongside six further affiliated hospitals.
5
A Medical Campus Built in 2024 Beside the Teaching Hospital
Medical students placed on a shared general campus compete for anatomy labs and quiet study space with business and arts undergraduates, then travel across the city to reach the wards. Hubei University of Arts and Science opened the East Jin medical campus in August 2024, a 56,000 square metre site for medical education built next to the affiliated hospital’s East Jin branch, so your child studies, trains, and lives within walking distance of the wards.
6
A National Practical-Skills Examination Base on Campus
Your child can pass the written papers and still fail the hands-on clinical-skills examination that a medical licence depends on, if the programme has no proper skills-assessment setup. China’s national medical authority designated Hubei University of Arts and Science a National Medical Practitioner Qualification Practical Skills Examination Base, and the university runs that practical-skills test for more than 4,000 candidates from the Xiangyang region each year, so your child trains where the licensing skills examination is itself held.

The CNY-PKR rate moves week to week. The two MTZ statements below set the budgeting rule and the payment-day reconfirmation step Pakistani families must read before paying anything.
Exchange Rate Notice — Read Before Budgeting
For budgeting and financial planning, MTZ advises families to use a conservative rate of PKR 42 to PKR 45 per CNY to account for exchange rate movement over the 6-year degree.
PKR figures above are indicative only, calculated at 1 CNY = PKR 40. The actual PKR cost on the date of payment depends on the prevailing CNY-PKR exchange rate. The CNY-PKR rate fluctuates. 6-YEAR TOTAL NOTE: The 6-year total above excludes: one-time fees, flights, exchange rate movements. MTZ advises families to plan a 2 to 3 month PKR buffer above the indicative total.
When your child completes the final internship year in Pakistan, Hubei University of Arts and Science charges a flat CNY 7,000 for that year in place of the CNY 18,000 tuition and CNY 3,000 hostel, which is why the second total runs lower. Living costs are retained in both totals so your family does not under-budget.
Can Your Child Apply for MBBS at Hubei University of Arts and Science?
Hubei University of Arts and Science sets its own entry requirements, and PMDC sets additional conditions for Pakistani students. Both apply. The table below covers the university-specific requirements. Confirm PMDC’s current MDCAT requirement at pmdc.pk before applying.
Academic Requirements (Hubei University of Arts and Science Specific)
FSc Pre-Medical, HSSC, or an accepted equivalent such as A-Levels
60% in FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent
Biology, Chemistry, and Physics studied at intermediate level
16 to 25 years at admission
School English proficiency certificate accepted. IELTS or TOEFL not required
Your child must reach HSK Level 4 to progress into the clinical years of the Clinical Medicine programme
PMDC requires a minimum 50% in MDCAT before departure for any Pakistani student who intends to return and practise in Pakistan. Confirm the current requirement at pmdc.pk
Hubei University of Arts and Science admits your child on a Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed before arrival and re-checked on campus in Xiangyang. Your child must be in good general health, free of the infectious conditions that China’s student-visa medical screens for, and fit to begin the on-campus medical check during first-year registration at the East Jin campus.
Before any application reaches Hubei University of Arts and Science, MTZ checks your child’s FSc Pre-Medical marks against the university threshold, confirms MDCAT status against the current PMDC condition, and verifies passport validity, the financial guarantee or bank statement, and the IBCC and MOFA attestations on transcripts. MTZ also sets out the HSK-4 study plan with your family so the language gate is understood before your child commits.
Your child must reach HSK Level 4 in Year 1 to progress to clinical years. This is a language proficiency requirement, not optional. MTZ briefs every student and family on this before any commitment is made.

Where Can Your Child Practise After MBBS from Hubei University of Arts and Science?
Hubei University of Arts and Science is PMDC-approved, and that recognition sets the licensing pathway that matters most to Pakistani families. For the full country-by-country comparison across all 29 MTZ universities, see /mbbs-china-licensing/.
PMDC Recognition and NLE Pathway (Pakistan), verified
Hubei University of Arts and Science sits on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list for Bachelor of Medicine, MBBS, verified 30 May 2026. After the degree, your child sits the PMDC National Licensing Examination to register and practise in Pakistan, and the standing PMDC condition of a 50% MDCAT before departure applies. The university’s PMDC listing supports this NLE pathway directly.

WDOMS Listing, confirm at application
Pathways to practise outside Pakistan run through the university’s World Directory of Medical Schools listing. Confirm the current WDOMS record before relying on it.

ECFMG and USMLE Pathway, confirm at application
ECFMG and USMLE eligibility follow the WDOMS listing. As a Non-MOE university, verify the current ECFMG position directly.
MOE Listed vs Non-MOE Listed Universities, Which Suits You?
The 29 PMDC-approved Chinese medical universities where MTZ places Pakistani students split into two categories. Understanding the difference is the single most important decision a Pakistani family makes after committing to MBBS in China.
| Factor | MOE-Listed 13 | Non-MOE Listed (16) |
|---|---|---|
| Medium of instruction | English-medium MBBS | Bilingual, clinical teaching in Chinese |
| HSK-4 requirement | Used for ward communication, not the clinical entry gate | Mandatory to enter the clinical years |

| MTZ recommendation | Choose for English-medium teaching with a higher fee | Choose if affordability is the priority and your child will reach HSK-4 |
NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh apply to those countries’ students only. Pakistani students are unaffected by NMC or BMDC. PMDC recognises both MOE listed and Non-MOE listed universities. For licensing outside Pakistan, eligibility is decided by the individual university’s World Directory of Medical Schools listing, not by whether it is MOE listed or Non-MOE listed. MTZ confirms a university’s WDOMS listing before placing your child.
Where Hubei University of Arts and Science Sits in This Split
Hubei University of Arts and Science is Non-MOE listed, PMDC-approved, bilingual with HSK-4 required for the clinical years, and in the Affordable tier. Your child’s pathways to practise outside Pakistan run through the university’s WDOMS listing, which MTZ confirms before placement.

MTZ service fee
Terms set out in your written MTZ agreement before any payment
Risk Flags MTZ Issues Before You Commit
The five risk flags below are the failure points that derail Pakistani MBBS applications to Qingdao University every year. MTZ briefs every family on all five before any payment.
Age Limit
Hubei University of Arts and Science admits MBBS applicants aged 16 to 25. Your child’s age at admission must fall inside this window, so a gap-year delay can close the door. MTZ checks this first.
Application Deadline
The September intake fills on a first-come basis, and a late application risks losing the seat for the year. MTZ submits early to protect your child’s place.
Document Quality
A weak transcript scan, a missing IBCC or MOFA attestation, or a mismatch between passport and certificate names delays or sinks an application. MTZ verifies every document before submission.
PMDC List Changes
PMDC updates its recognised-institutions list periodically, and a family must confirm current status before committing. MTZ re-verifies the PMDC list at pmdc.pk before placing every student.
HSK-4 Language Gate.
Your child must reach HSK Level 4 to enter the clinical years of this bilingual programme. A student who treats Year 1 Chinese casually risks stalling before the wards. MTZ sets the HSK-4 plan with your family at the start.
Scholarships for MBBS Students at Hubei University of Arts and Science
Read this section carefully before any agent tells you a scholarship is guaranteed. MTZ’s position on scholarships is stated below in full, and it does not change based on what you want to hear.
Some partner universities offer merit-based awards to high-performing MBBS students from their second year, based on academic performance — these are the university’s independent decisions and are not guaranteed at admission. MTZ Global Visa Consultants does not assure or guarantee scholarships for MBBS study in China. For fully funded MS and PhD scholarships, see our Global Scholarships hub.
Hubei University of Arts and Science scholarship streams (factual, not guaranteed):
University merit award
From Year 2
Awarded at the university’s discretion on academic performance, not committed at admission, amount set by the university each year
Provincial and Belt and Road streams

Hubei provincial and Belt and Road scholarship streams exist for international students; availability and value change yearly and are not guaranteed. Current schemes confirmed by MTZ

What MTZ Will Not Promise for Hubei University of Arts and Science
CEO Mubbashir Qureshi brings 25+ years of personal experience to every application MTZ handles. We have seen what happens when consultants overpromise. Here is our position, in writing.
What MTZ Will Not Do
No consultant can promise your child a seat. Hubei University of Arts and Science decides every admission, and MTZ presents the strongest possible file rather than a guarantee.
The exact PKR you pay sits outside anyone’s control, because the CNY-PKR rate moves daily. MTZ will not quote a fixed PKR figure that the exchange rate can break.
Your child’s results in the programme rest on your child’s own work. MTZ will not promise distinctions, a class position, or any particular grade.
A scholarship is the university’s own decision from Year 2 on academic merit, so MTZ will not promise one at admission or assure any amount.
PMDC can revise its recognised-institutions list and its MDCAT condition, and MTZ will not pretend that today’s policy is frozen for the next six years.
Embassy processing time rests with the Chinese Embassy, not with MTZ, so we will not promise a visa by a fixed date.
Ward experience varies with the hospital, the rotation, and your child’s effort, and MTZ will not promise a specific clinical placement outcome.
What MTZ Commits To
Every placement starts with a fresh PMDC check at pmdc.pk, which MTZ runs before your child is placed.
Before any payment, your family receives the full fee breakdown in CNY and indicative PKR in writing.
Across the whole six years, MTZ stays reachable on the Islamabad and Lahore WhatsApp lines for your family.
Should a visa application face a setback, MTZ reworks and resubmits the file under the terms set out in your written agreement.
MTZ places students only at universities it has verified, and Hubei University of Arts and Science sits on the PMDC recognised list checked on 30 May 2026.
Hubei University of Arts and Science: Campus and City
Where your child studies shapes the full six-year experience. Here is what the Hubei University of Arts and Science medical campus and the city of Xiangyang look like on the ground.
The Campus
Hubei University of Arts and Science teaches its medical students from the East Jin campus, a site the university built for medical education and opened in August 2024 at a cost of 270 million yuan. The campus holds four buildings, one for teaching, one for research, and two student dormitories, with capacity for more than 1,600 students across a built area of 56,000 square metres. It sits on the east side of the affiliated Xiangyang Central Hospital’s East Jin branch, so your child studies, sleeps, and trains within walking distance of the wards rather than commuting across the city. The medical department runs dedicated medical-experiment, clinical-skills, and molecular-medicine teaching platforms on site, and the faculty numbers 636 medical teachers, of whom 93 hold doctorates.
The City, Xiangyang, Hubei Province
Xiangyang is the sub-centre city of Hubei and one of its largest, set on the Han River in the north of the province. It carries real history, the Ming-era city wall and the Gulongzhong site linked to Zhuge Liang of the Three Kingdoms, yet it costs far less to live in than Wuhan or the coastal megacities, which suits a student on a six-year budget. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold winters, so your child packs for all four seasons rather than the milder south. Xiangyang Liuji Airport connects the city to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other domestic hubs, and high-speed rail from Xiangyang East reaches Wuhan in about an hour and a half, which makes family travel and onward connections manageable. City buses and ride-hailing apps such as DiDi cover daily transport across the city.

The MBBS is fully in English, your child needs no Chinese
Believe this and your child arrives unprepared for the language gate that decides progression. Hubei University of Arts and Science teaches Clinical Medicine bilingually with clinical teaching in Chinese, and your child must reach HSK Level 4 to enter the clinical years. MTZ sets the HSK-4 plan with your family from the start so this is no surprise.

Chinese MBBS degrees are not accepted anywhere outside Pakistan
Take this at face value and a family rules out a degree with wider reach than they think. PMDC recognises the degree for licensing in Pakistan through the National Licensing Examination, and pathways to other countries run through the university’s World Directory of Medical Schools listing, which MTZ confirms for your child before placement rather than promising blanket global acceptance.

Xiangyang is too extreme a city for Pakistani students
Families who accept this myth pass over a calm, affordable city for no real reason. Xiangyang is a major Hubei city on the Han River with a long history, an airport, high-speed rail to Wuhan, and an established international student cohort, and your child lives on a campus built in 2024 beside the teaching hospital.

You can study MBBS in China cheaply and skip the MDCAT
Act on this and your child may finish a degree they cannot register in Pakistan. PMDC requires a minimum 50% in MDCAT before departure for any student who intends to return and practise, and MTZ checks MDCAT status before submitting any application to Hubei University of Arts and Science.

MTZ guarantees admission to Hubei University of Arts and Science
Any agent promising a guaranteed seat is selling a promise they cannot keep, and that is your first warning sign. The university alone decides admission. MTZ prepares and submits the strongest file and is honest with your family about what it cannot control.
