Is Hubei Minzu University MBBS Recognised?
Your child’s degree is only as valuable as the bodies that recognise it. Below is Hubei Minzu University’s verified recognition status as of May 2026. Every claim links to its official source.

6 Reasons Pakistani Families Choose Hubei Minzu University
Hubei Minzu University suits families who want a PMDC-recognised, affordable route into clinical medicine, with real teaching hospitals in the calm prefecture city of Enshi. Each reason below starts with the risk MTZ sees families overlook, then shows how this university answers it.
1
Without PMDC Recognition, Your Child Cannot Sit the NLE in Pakistan
A foreign MBBS that PMDC does not recognise leaves your child unable to sit the National Licensing Exam and shut out of practice at home. Hubei Minzu University appears on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list, verified on 30 May 2026 at pmdc.pk, so your child keeps the NLE pathway back to Pakistan once the PMDC conditions are met.
2
On Chinese Wards, Your Child Needs HSK-4 to Examine, Not Just Observe
In China, ward rounds and patient histories run in Chinese, and your child who cannot follow them spends the clinical years watching from the back. Hubei Minzu University builds a full Chinese-language first year and sets HSK-4 as the gate into the clinical years, so by the time your child reaches the bedside at Minda Hospital, taking a history in Chinese is realistic.
3
A Mid-Degree Fee Shock Is What Ends Most Foreign MBBS Attempts
Many families begin a medical degree abroad they cannot afford to finish, and a fee jump in Year 3 ends both the degree and the money already paid. Hubei Minzu University sits in the affordable tier, with tuition of CNY 16,500 and hostel of CNY 1,800 a year, and a lower first year at CNY 8,000 tuition, so your child’s six-year budget stays steady and predictable.
4
A Weak Teaching Hospital Gives Your Child Clinical Training in Name Only
Clinical years spent in a hospital that rarely treats real patients leave your child with theory and almost no practice. Hubei Minzu University runs a directly affiliated Tertiary Grade A general hospital, Minda Hospital, alongside two teaching hospitals, all national-level standardised residency training bases holding 45 provincial-level clinical key specialties, so your child trains where real patients are treated every day.
5
A Programme Without Provincial Standing Weakens the Transcript Early
Without a recognised academic standing, your child’s transcript looks thin before any examiner or employer reads it. Clinical Medicine at Hubei Minzu University is a Hubei Province first-class undergraduate major construction point, a provincial quality designation, which gives your child a degree with a recorded academic footing rather than an unranked one.
6
A Brand-New International Intake Leaves Your Child Without Settled Support
Joining a programme that has only just opened to foreign students places your child in an untested experiment rather than a working system. Hubei Minzu University already teaches clinical medicine to international students from more than 10 countries, so your child enters an established cohort with a support routine that has been running for years.

Exchange Rate Notice, Read Before Budgeting
The CNY-PKR rate moves week to week. The two MTZ statements below set the budgeting rule and the payment-day reconfirmation step Pakistani families must read before paying anything.
Exchange Rate Notice — Read Before Budgeting
For budgeting and financial planning, MTZ advises families to use a conservative rate of PKR 42 to PKR 45 per CNY to account for exchange rate movement over the 6-year degree.
PKR figures above are indicative only, calculated at 1 CNY = PKR 40. The actual PKR cost on the date of payment depends on the prevailing CNY-PKR exchange rate. The CNY-PKR rate fluctuates. MTZ will provide the exact PKR figure at the time of application based on the rate on that date. WhatsApp MTZ Islamabad or Lahore for the current PKR breakdown before making any payment decision.

Can Your Child Apply for MBBS at Hubei Minzu University?
Hubei Minzu University sets its own entry requirements, and PMDC sets additional conditions for Pakistani students. Both apply. The table below covers the university-specific requirements. Confirm PMDC’s current MDCAT requirement at pmdc.pk before applying.
Academic Requirements (Hubei Minzu University-Specific)
FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent (HSSC, A-Levels, WAEC), completed
60% in HSSC or equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology
PMDC requires a valid MDCAT result for Pakistani students studying MBBS abroad. Confirm the current pass mark at pmdc.pk before applying.
No university entrance test
17 to 25 years at enrolment, per the university’s stated range
IELTS and TOEFL not required for admission
Hubei Minzu University requires every international applicant to submit the standard Foreigner Physical Examination Form, completed and stamped by a registered hospital in Pakistan, covering general health, infectious disease screening, and a chest examination. Your child must be medically fit for a six-year clinical programme in Enshi, a mountain prefecture city with cold winters. MTZ checks that the examination form is recent and correctly stamped before submission, because an expired or unstamped form is a common reason admission offices return a Hubei Minzu University file.
Year 1 is taught in Chinese language. Your child must reach HSK Level 4 to progress into the clinical years; HSK-5 is the graduation prerequisite.
Before any Hubei Minzu University file leaves our office, MTZ confirms your child’s FSc marks meet the 60% threshold in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, that the passport holds at least one year of validity, and that the PMDC MDCAT condition is satisfied as of the current notification. MTZ also confirms with your family, in writing, that you understand the Chinese-language Year 1 and the HSK-4 clinical gate at Hubei Minzu University, so no family commits to this university expecting an all-English programme.
HSK-4 requirement
Your child must reach HSK Level 4 in Year 1 to progress to the clinical years. This is a language proficiency requirement, not optional. MTZ briefs every student and family on this before any commitment is made.
How MTZ Applies Pakistani Students to Hubei Minzu University
The steps below cover the Hubei Minzu University application only. For the full general MBBS application process for China, see our complete guide at MBBS in China for Pakistani students.
Step 1
Eligibility check and document list
MTZ confirms your child meets the Hubei Minzu University academic bar (60% in FSc with Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and the current PMDC MDCAT condition, then issues your family the exact document checklist.
Step 2
Document preparation and IBCC attestation
Your family gathers the FSc certificate and transcripts, passport, photographs, the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, and the police character certificate. MTZ guides IBCC attestation and notarisation so nothing is returned later.
Step 3
Application submission to Hubei Minzu University
MTZ submits the completed application and supporting documents to the Hubei Minzu University International Education College for the September 2026 intake, before the published deadline.
Step4
Pre-admission acknowledgement of HSK-4
Your family signs MTZ’s written acknowledgement that Year 1 is taught in Chinese and that HSK-4 gates the clinical years at Hubei Minzu University. This step protects your family from a mid-degree surprise.
Step 5
Admission letter and JW202
After the university evaluates the file, Hubei Minzu University issues the admission letter and the JW202 form. Hubei Minzu University admits degree-seeking international students, so a JW202 form is issued for your child’s X1 Student Visa application.
Step 6
X1 Student Visa application
Your child applies for the X1 Student Visa at the Chinese Embassy or the designated visa centre, using the admission letter and JW202. MTZ prepares your child for the submission and interview.
Step 7
Pre-departure briefing and travel
MTZ briefs your child on Enshi’s climate, the campus, the Chinese-language Year 1, and the documents to carry, then confirms travel for the September intake.
Step 8
Arrival, airport transfer and registration
MTZ arranges the airport pick-up at no charge and supports your child through on-campus registration, the arrival medical check, and residence permit formalities at Hubei Minzu University.
For the full general process for Pakistani families, see the MBBS in China application guide for Pakistan.
Where Can Your Child Practise After MBBS from Hubei Minzu University?
Hubei Minzu University is PMDC-approved and listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. These recognitions set the licensing pathways open to your child, covered below. For the full country-by-country comparison across all 29 MTZ universities, see the MBBS China licensing guide.
PMDC Recognition and NLE Pathway (Pakistan)
Hebei North University is a PMDC recognised foreign medical institution. After your child completes the MBBS and returns to Pakistan, your child sits the PMDC National Licensing Examination, and on passing, registers with PMDC to practise as a doctor in Pakistan. This pathway depends on the university staying on the current PMDC list, which MTZ re-checks at pmdc.pk before every placement. Reconfirm at pmdc.pk before applying.

WDOMS Listing (World Directory of Medical Schools)
Hubei Minzu University’s listing in the World Directory of Medical Schools records the medical school internationally, which is the reference point many medical councils check first. A WDOMS listing confirms the school exists; it does not by itself grant licensing eligibility in any country, and your child must meet each council’s own requirements.

Chinese-Language Clinical Training
Hubei Minzu University’s HSK-gated clinical years give your child working Chinese alongside clinical practice, which supports eligibility to sit China’s own medical licensing route and strengthens any application that asks for the language of clinical instruction. MTZ confirms each destination council’s current rules with your family before your child relies on a specific overseas pathway.
MOE Listed vs Non-MOE Listed Universities, Which Suits You?
The 29 PMDC-approved Chinese medical universities where MTZ places Pakistani students split into two categories. Understanding the difference is the single most important decision a Pakistani family makes after committing to MBBS in China.
| Factor | MOE-Listed 13 | Non-MOE Listed (16) |
|---|---|---|
| Medium of instruction | English-medium MBBS | Bilingual, Chinese Year 1 then bilingual clinical years |
| HSK-4 requirement | Generally not required | Required before clinical years (HSK-5 to graduate) |

| MCCQE (Canada) | Common pathway | Case by case, verify per university |
| DHA / MOHAP / DOH (UAE) | Common pathway | Case by case, verify per university |
| GCC licensing | Common pathway | Case by case, verify per university |
| NMC India / BMDC Bangladesh | Applies to those countries’ students | Applies to those countries’ students |
| Typical student profile | Wants English-medium and widest options | Wants lower cost, ready to learn Chinese |
| MTZ recommendation | English-medium + global breadth | Affordability + HSK-4 commitment accepted |
Note on NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh: NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh apply to those countries’ students only. Pakistani students are unaffected by NMC or BMDC; PMDC recognises both MOE-listed and Non-MOE listed universities.
Hubei Minzu University is Non-MOE listed.
Your child studies a bilingual MBBS with a Chinese-language first year and the HSK-4 clinical gate, at a lower cost, while keeping the PMDC NLE pathway home.

Refund Policy and Risk Flags: Read Before You Pay
Every family needs to understand what is refundable and what is not before any payment is made to Hubei Minzu University or to MTZ.
Refund Policy
Application fee
One-time and non-refundable once the file is submitted
Tuition fee
Paid on arrival in CNY; refund follows Hubei Minzu University’s own policy at the time
Hostel deposit
Subject to the university’s dormitory deposit terms; MTZ confirms before payment
X1 visa rejection
MTZ advises on the documents the embassy returns; university and MTZ refund terms confirmed in writing in advance
MTZ service fee
Terms set out in your written MTZ agreement before any payment
Risk Flags MTZ Issues Before You Commit
Age Limit
Hubei Minzu University states an age range of 17 to 25 at enrolment. If your child sits outside this range at the intake date, the file can be refused. MTZ checks the age against the intake date at the eligibility stage.
Application Deadline
The September 2026 intake closes on a fixed date. A late or incomplete Hubei Minzu University file misses the intake entirely, costing a full year. MTZ submits well before the published deadline.
Document Quality
An expired, unstamped, or un-attested document is a common reason a Hubei Minzu University file is returned. MTZ verifies IBCC attestation and the Foreigner Physical Examination Form before submission.
PMDC List Changes
PMDC recognition lists are updated periodically. MTZ re-verifies Hubei Minzu University on the PMDC list before placing your child, and you should confirm current status at pmdc.pk before applying.
HSK-4 language gate
Hubei Minzu University requires HSK-4 to progress into the clinical years and HSK-5 to graduate. A child who treats the Chinese-language Year 1 lightly risks the clinical progression. MTZ briefs every family on this before any commitment.
Scholarships for MBBS Students at Hubei Minzu University
Read this section carefully before any agent tells you a scholarship is guaranteed. MTZ’s position on scholarships is stated below in full. It does not change based on what you want to hear.
Some partner universities offer merit-based awards to high-performing MBBS students from their second year, based on academic performance — these are the university’s independent decisions and are not guaranteed at admission. MTZ Global Visa Consultants does not assure or guarantee scholarships for MBBS study in China. For fully funded MS and PhD scholarships, see our Global Scholarships hub.
Hubei Minzu University scholarship streams (factual, not guaranteed):
Hubei Provincial Scholarship
Provincial
Up to CNY 10,000, awarded on grades, attendance and the university’s evaluation; a university and provincial decision, not guaranteed at admission
Academic Excellence (merit) award
University
From Year 2, annual merit award reported in the CNY 300 to 5,000 range on academic results and attendance, at the university’s discretion
For fully funded scholarships, see the MTZ Global Scholarships hub at /global-scholarships/ for the MS and PhD pathways MTZ does actively prepare students for.
What MTZ Will Not Promise for Hubei Minzu University
CEO Mubbashir Qureshi brings 25+ years of personal experience to every application MTZ handles. We have seen what happens when consultants overpromise. Here is our position, in writing.
What MTZ Will Not Do
Admission to Hubei Minzu University is never guaranteed by MTZ; the university evaluates and decides every file.
Exact PKR costs cannot be fixed in advance, because the CNY-PKR rate moves across a six-year degree.
No agent can promise your child’s academic results; the HSK-4 gate and clinical examinations are passed by the student, not bought.
Scholarships at Hubei Minzu University are the university’s independent decisions and are never assured at admission.
PMDC policy can change, so MTZ will not promise that today’s recognition or MDCAT rule will be unchanged at graduation.
Visa timelines sit with the Chinese Embassy, and MTZ will not promise a fixed approval date for the X1 Student Visa.
Clinical placement quality follows the university’s hospital allocation, which MTZ will not overstate beyond what the affiliated hospitals actually provide.
What MTZ Commits To
Verifying Hubei Minzu University on the PMDC list before your child is placed, and again before each intake.
A written fee breakdown in CNY and indicative PKR reaches your family before any payment is requested.
We confirm in writing that your family can reach the full six-year cost before your child commits to the degree.
Should the X1 visa be refused, MTZ reviews the embassy’s reasons and supports a corrected resubmission per our written policy.
Placing students only at universities MTZ has verified; MTZ does not send your child to an unverified institution.
Hubei Minzu University: Campus and City
Where your child studies shapes the full six-year experience. Here is exactly what the Hubei Minzu University campus and the city of Enshi look like on the ground.
The Campus
Hubei Minzu University sits on a campus of more than 1,600 mu on Xueyuan Road in Enshi, set against the hills and rivers of the Wuling mountain region. Its 19 colleges include the Clinical Medical College and the International Education College that hosts your child, with a directly affiliated Tertiary Grade A hospital, Minda Hospital, on hand for clinical training. The library holds over 2.4 million volumes, and the medical faculty runs basic-medicine and virtual-simulation teaching centres for early clinical skills. International students live on campus, which keeps your child close to teaching buildings, the canteens and the medical facilities.
The City, Enshi, Hubei Province
Enshi is the capital of the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in south-west Hubei, a green prefecture city known for canyons, rivers and a calm pace rather than metropolitan crowds. The climate is subtropical highland: mild summers and cool to cold, damp winters, so your child needs warm clothing from late autumn. Enshi has its own airport with domestic links, and high-speed rail connects it to Wuhan and the wider province, so travel home through a major hub is workable. The smaller-city setting means lower living costs and fewer distractions, with a campus Muslim canteen on hand for everyday halal meals.
Clearing Up Misinformation About MBBS at Hubei Minzu University
Incorrect information about MBBS at Hubei Minzu University circulates online and through unqualified agents. Read the facts.

Hubei Minzu University is not recognised by PMDC.
Hubei Minzu University is on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list for Bachelor of Medicine in Clinical Medicine, China, verified on 30 May 2026 at pmdc.pk. Your child keeps the PMDC NLE pathway on meeting PMDC’s conditions.

Hubei Minzu University is fully English-medium and you never need any Chinese.
Hubei Minzu University is a Non-MOE listed, bilingual programme. Year 1 is Chinese language, HSK-4 is required to enter the clinical years, and HSK-5 is the graduation prerequisite. Any agent who tells your family no Chinese is needed is misleading you.

A Chinese MBBS is not accepted anywhere outside Pakistan.
Hubei Minzu University’s medical school is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, the reference many councils check. Each country sets its own licensing rules, and MTZ confirms a specific destination’s current requirements with your family rather than overstating them.

Enshi is too extreme for Pakistani students.
Enshi is a calm prefecture city with a subtropical highland climate, mild summers and cool damp winters, its own airport, and high-speed rail to Wuhan. Your child needs warm winter clothing, not an extreme-weather plan.

You can do MBBS in China cheaply without MDCAT.
PMDC requires a valid MDCAT result for Pakistani students studying MBBS abroad. Low tuition at Hubei Minzu University does not remove the MDCAT condition; skipping it risks your child’s NLE pathway home.

Frequently Asked Questions, MBBS at Hubei Minzu University
These are the questions Pakistani families ask MTZ most often about Hubei Minzu University. Every answer is based on verified information. If something has changed since this page was last updated, WhatsApp MTZ before acting on it.
Yes. Hubei Minzu University is on the PMDC recognised foreign institutions list for Bachelor of Medicine in Clinical Medicine, China, verified on 30 May 2026 at pmdc.pk. This keeps your child’s National Licensing Exam pathway to Pakistan open, on meeting PMDC’s conditions. MTZ re-checks the PMDC list before every placement.
Tuition is CNY 16,500 a year, with a lower first Chinese-language year at CNY 8,000, and hostel is CNY 1,800 a year. At an indicative 1 CNY = PKR 40, tuition is about PKR 660,000 and hostel about PKR 72,000 per year. PKR figures are indicative only; the actual cost depends on the exchange rate on the date of payment, so WhatsApp MTZ for the current breakdown before paying.
No. Hubei Minzu University runs a bilingual MBBS, not an English-medium one. The first year is Chinese language, and your child must reach HSK-4 to enter the clinical years and HSK-5 to graduate, studying through both English and Chinese with patients seen in Chinese on the wards. Any agent who calls this a fully English-medium degree is misleading your family.
No. Hubei Minzu University does not require IELTS or TOEFL for admission. Your child does, however, face the Chinese-language requirement, with HSK-4 needed before the clinical years.
The main intake is September 2026. Applications close on the university’s published deadline, and a late or incomplete file misses the intake by a full year, so MTZ submits well before the cut-off.
MOE-listed universities teach MBBS in English and generally do not gate progression on HSK. Non-MOE listed universities, including Hubei Minzu University, teach bilingually with a Chinese-language first year and an HSK-4 clinical gate, usually at a lower cost. PMDC recognises both categories, so your child’s NLE pathway home is available either way.
Yes. Female students live in the on-campus dormitory with CCTV coverage, and off-campus residence is not permitted. MTZ confirms the female-block allocation, warden and access arrangements with the International Education College before your daughter enrols, and keeps a direct contact line for your family.
The NLE is Pakistan’s National Licensing Exam, which a foreign medical graduate must pass to practise in Pakistan. Because Hubei Minzu University is PMDC-recognised, your child can sit the NLE after the degree, on meeting PMDC’s conditions, including the MDCAT requirement set before departure.
Hubei Minzu University teaches clinical medicine to international students from more than 10 countries, including Pakistani students. The university does not publish an exact live Pakistani headcount, so MTZ shares the current picture and connects your child with students already at Hubei Minzu University before departure.
No. The MTZ eligibility check for Hubei Minzu University is free. MTZ confirms your child’s FSc marks, MDCAT position and documents, and gives you a written assessment before any service agreement or payment.
Hubei Minzu University requires HSK-4 by the end of the Chinese-language first year to progress into the clinical years, and HSK-5 as the graduation prerequisite. MTZ briefs every student and family on this gate before any commitment, so your child plans the first-year language workload from the start.
Your child trains at the directly affiliated Minda Hospital, a Tertiary Grade A general hospital, supported by Enshi Prefecture teaching hospitals. These are national-level standardised residency training bases, so your child’s clinical years take place where real patients are treated.
