6 REASONS PAKISTANI FAMILIES CHOOSE QINGDAO UNIVERSITY

Qingdao University was approved by China’s Ministry of Education to enrol international medical students in 1987 and launched its English-taught MBBS in 2006, making it one of the oldest and most settled English-medium medical destinations on the PMDC list. Six specific features set Qingdao apart for Pakistani families.

1

Lead Hospital Ranked 69th Nationally

At Qingdao University, your child’s clinical rotations run inside the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University, ranked 69th in Fudan’s China Hospital Ranking and Top 100 for four consecutive years. The hospital opens 5,046 inpatient beds across five campuses, handles 5.27 million outpatient and emergency visits, 210,000 discharges and 104,000 surgeries every year. Your child rotates in a hospital that runs at the volume your child needs.

2

MBBS Programme Settled Since 2006

Qingdao University started its 6-year English-taught MBBS programme in 2006, building two decades of teaching habit before your child arrives. The course is mapped to the same Faculty of Medicine that runs the Chinese-medium MBBS, taught by the 424 full-time faculty members listed on the official Faculty of Medicine page, including 244 professors and associate professors, one Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and six external academicians.

3

MOE Approval Held Since 1987

Qingdao University was approved by China’s Ministry of Education to admit international students in 1987, designated as a Demonstration Education Base of Study in China by MOE in 2014, and operates a dedicated College of International Education that manages your child’s admission, visa, accommodation, and affairs through a separate International Students Office at the Minxing Building, 308 Ningxia Road.

4

Faculty of Medicine With 16 Affiliated and 4 Teaching Hospitals

Qingdao University’s Faculty of Medicine operates 16 affiliated hospitals and 4 teaching hospitals, giving your child access to a clinical network that holds 2 national key clinical disciplines, 31 provincial key clinical specialities at the lead hospital alone, and the country’s only academician working across both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering in the ophthalmology speciality.

5

Coastal Shandong Location With Real International Cohort

Qingdao University currently hosts 600+ international students drawn from 40 countries through 245 partner universities, with the Faculty of Medicine alone holding about 360 international students. Your child arrives in coastal Shandong, a city ranked among China’s safest tier-two coastal cities, with established Pakistani senior batches who help new arrivals settle.

6

Five Hospital Campuses Across One City

The Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University operates five campuses inside one city: Shinan, Laoshan, West Coast, Shibei and Pingdu. Your child rotates between campuses on internal hospital transport, returns to the same university dormitory each evening during the internship year, and avoids the travel waste that hits MBBS students placed at universities with hospitals in different cities.

ELIGIBILITY

Qingdao University sets its own entry requirements, and PMDC sets additional conditions for Pakistani students. Both apply. The table below covers the university-specific requirements. Confirm PMDC’s current MDCAT requirement at pmdc.pk before applying.

Academic Requirements (Qingdao University-Specific)

The eight academic conditions below are taken directly from Qingdao University’s 2026 MBBS programme detail page and the PMDC Policy for Pakistani students seeking foreign undergraduate medical admission.

FSc Pre-Medical

Average score above 80%, with every individual subject above 60% (Qingdao University rule). PMDC minimum is 60% Pre-Medical. The Qingdao threshold is stricter, so it governs the application.

MDCAT (PMDC requirement)

Pakistani students must hold a valid PMDC MDCAT pass for the current admission cycle before any Chinese medical university accepts the application. Confirm the current MDCAT cut-off and validity at pmdc.pk before paying any fee.

CSCA Mathematics (2026 intake mandatory)

Qingdao University’s MBBS English programme appears on the 2026 CSCA required-universities list. Pakistani applicants must pass the CSCA Mathematics paper before submitting the Qingdao application. Subject scope: Mathematics only (数学).

HSK Chinese, NOT REQUIRED

Qingdao University’s MBBS English-taught track does not require an HSK Chinese certificate for admission or for clinical progression. Your child can apply without any Chinese language test result. MTZ still recommends informal HSK 1 or HSK 2 self-study by Year 2 for everyday hospital interaction, but this is a recommendation, not a requirement.

Age

18 years and above at the time of admission, healthy physical condition. PMDC adds an upper limit of 25 years at the date of admission.

English proficiency

Applicants from non-English-speaking countries provide records of English-medium primary and secondary schooling, OR a certificate of English proficiency from a standardised English test. Pakistani FSc candidates from English-medium schools usually meet this with their school transcripts.

Equivalence certificate

IBCC equivalence certificate confirming FSc Pre-Medical equivalence is mandatory at the time of PMDC NOC application.

MOFA and Embassy attestation

All academic documents attested by HEC, MOFA, and the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad before submission.

Physical and Medical Requirements

Qingdao University accepts only applicants in good physical and mental health. The two checks below decide whether your child is cleared for enrolment.
Your child must clear the standard Foreigner Physical Examination Form issued by the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad before the X1 student visa is granted. The same form is re-checked at Qingdao Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on arrival in Qingdao. Conditions that disqualify enrolment include active tuberculosis, severe infectious disease, severe cardiac conditions, and mental health conditions that prevent independent study at undergraduate level. Qingdao University reserves the right to defer or refuse enrolment if the on-arrival re-check contradicts the pre-departure form. MTZ books the pre-departure medical at an approved Pakistani panel hospital and walks your child through both checks.

What MTZ Verifies Before Submitting Your Application

MTZ runs a written checklist on every Qingdao University application before submitting through the istudy.qdu.edu.cn portal. The five checks below are non-negotiable.
MTZ verifies that the FSc transcript shows average above 80% and every subject above 60% against Qingdao’s threshold, confirms the MDCAT pass is current per PMDC’s policy for the admission cycle, confirms the CSCA Mathematics score paper is in your child’s file before the Qingdao application form is opened (HSK Chinese is not required at Qingdao University, so no HSK certificate is checked), confirms IBCC equivalence and HEC-MOFA-Embassy attestation chain is complete for all academic documents, and reconfirms that the pre-departure medical form is signed by a panel doctor recognised by the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad. Your child’s Qingdao University application is submitted only after every line on this checklist clears.

CSCA EXAM, 2026 INTAKE MANDATORY
The China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) became a required admission paper for Qingdao University’s MBBS English programme from the 2026 intake. The exam scope for your child is Mathematics only (数学). HSK Chinese is not required at Qingdao University, only the CSCA Mathematics paper. Sittings are scheduled across the year on the official CSCA calendar (typical windows: January, March, April, June, December). Registration runs on the official CSCA portal at csca.cn. MTZ advises Pakistani families to book the March or April 2026 sitting so the score paper is in hand well before Qingdao University’s 20 June 2026 application deadline. A late CSCA score paper means your child waits a full year for the next September intake.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The nine steps below cover the Qingdao University application only. For the full general MBBS application process for China, see our complete guide at /mbbs-in-china/.

Step 1

Free MTZ Counselling and Eligibility Check

Your family books a free WhatsApp consultation with MTZ Islamabad or Lahore. MTZ reviews your child’s FSc score, MDCAT status, and target intake, and confirms whether Qingdao University is the right fit against your child’s profile and budget. No paperwork is collected at this stage.

Step 2

CSCA Mathematics Exam (Mandatory, Pre-Application)

This step is mandatory before any other step proceeds. Your child must pass the CSCA Mathematics paper (数学) and hold the official CSCA score paper in hand before Qingdao University accepts the application form. HSK Chinese is not required at Qingdao University for the English-taught MBBS track, so no HSK certificate is collected at this step. Registration is on the official CSCA portal at csca.cn. MTZ books your child into the March or April 2026 sitting so the score arrives well before Qingdao’s 20 June 2026 deadline. A missed CSCA window means your child waits a full year for the next September intake at Qingdao University.

Step 3

Document Pack Preparation

MTZ collects FSc transcript, FSc certificate, matriculation results, passport copy, MDCAT result card, CSCA score paper, parents’ national identity cards, and 12 passport-size photographs. MTZ runs the IBCC equivalence application and tracks it through Karachi or Islamabad office. HEC-MOFA-Chinese Embassy attestation chain is sequenced in this step, not delayed to Step 6.

Step4

Qingdao University Online Application Submission

MTZ logs into the official Qingdao University international student application system at istudy.qdu.edu.cn, fills your child’s information, uploads the document pack, and pays the CNY 800 application fee. The application is submitted within the 1 January to 20 June 2026 window. MTZ saves a screenshot of every submission step in your child’s file.

Step 5

Admission Notice and JW202 Issued

Qingdao University is MOE-listed. A JW202 form is therefore required for your child’s X1 Student Visa application. The Qingdao University Admission Office reviews the file, confirms the CSCA score and academic profile, and issues the original Admission Notice plus the JW202 Visa Application for Study in China form, posted by international courier to your address in Pakistan. MTZ tracks the courier and confirms receipt.

Step 6

Pre-Departure Medical and Foreigner Physical Examination Form

Your child completes the Foreigner Physical Examination Form at an approved panel hospital (Shifa International or a similar Chinese Embassy-recognised facility). MTZ books the appointment, walks your child through the chest X-ray, ECG, blood tests, and vaccination record check, and notarises the form for embassy submission.

Step 7

X1 Student Visa Application at the Chinese Embassy, Islamabad

MTZ assembles the X1 visa file: original Admission Notice, original JW202, attested academic chain, Foreigner Physical Examination Form, passport, and financial proof of family support. The file is submitted at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad through MTZ’s panel visa agent. Visa decision usually issues in 4 to 7 working days for a clean file.

Step 8

PMDC NOC Submission and Pre-Departure Briefing

MTZ submits the PMDC No Objection Certificate application on your child’s behalf at pmdc.pk before departure, files the IBCC equivalence record, and runs a 2-hour pre-departure briefing covering Qingdao city orientation, dormitory rules, halal food map, mosque locations in Qingdao, and the senior batch contact who will receive your child at Qingdao airport.

Step 9

Qingdao Arrival, Registration, and Residence Permit

MTZ Islamabad confirms flight bookings to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. The on-ground senior batch (MTZ Qingdao coordinator) receives your child at arrival, takes them to the international student dormitory at Qingdao University campus on 308 Ningxia Road, walks them through orientation at the College of International Education, and supports the local entry-exit bureau registration for the X1 to residence permit conversion within the mandatory 30-day window.

Where Can Your Child Practise After MBBS from Qingdao University?

Qingdao University’s MOE-listed status and WFME-recognised accreditation open licensing pathways across multiple countries. The three most relevant for Pakistani families are covered below. For the full country-by-country comparison across all 29 MTZ universities, see /mbbs-china-licensing/.

ECFMG logo featuring a circular emblem next to the text 'ECFMG'

MOE-Listed Status

Qingdao University was approved by China’s Ministry of Education to enrol international medical students in 1987 and runs its English-taught MBBS programme under MOE oversight. The MOE listing carries the JW202 visa form your child needs at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, and underpins the WHO-WDOMS School ID F0000391 listing that downstream regulators (ECFMG, GMC, AMC) check before granting licensing eligibility. Without MOE listing, none of the pathways below opens for your child.

Logo of Al Ain Medical & Dental College with a blue circular emblem and a stylized winged figure, English and Arabic text around the edge.

Pakistan, PMDC NLE Pathway

Qingdao University sits on the PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register, confirmed live at pmdc.pk on 29 May 2026. Your child’s Qingdao MBBS qualifies for the Pakistan National Licensing Examination (NLE) on return, the single gateway exam every foreign medical graduate must clear before PMDC registration and house job placement in Pakistan. MTZ runs an NLE preparation tie-up with senior batch alumni so your child returns home with a sitting plan in place.

ECFMG logo featuring a circular emblem next to the text 'ECFMG'

ECFMG Eligibility (USA Pathway)

Qingdao University’s WFME-recognised accreditation status and MOE-listed standing support ECFMG eligibility for your child, with graduation years 1953 to Current accepted on the WDOMS record. This opens the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3 sequence and an eventual ECFMG Certification, which is the formal admission ticket to a US residency match. WFME accreditation became mandatory for ECFMG Certification from the 2024 cycle onwards, so this is a live and current pathway for Qingdao graduates.

MOE Listed vs Non-MOE Listed Universities, Which Suits You?

The 29 PMDC-approved Chinese medical universities where MTZ places Pakistani students split into two categories. Understanding the difference is the single most important decision a Pakistani family makes after committing to MBBS in China.

Note on NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh: NMC India and BMDC Bangladesh apply to those countries’ students only. Pakistani students are unaffected by NMC or BMDC. PMDC recognises both MOE-listed and non-MOE-listed Chinese medical universities where they appear on the PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register.

Qingdao University falls in the MOE-Listed (13) category, which means your child studies the full 6-year MBBS in English, does not need an HSK Chinese certificate to progress, and pays Qingdao’s tuition of CNY 30,000 per year (PKR 12,00,000 indicative at 1 CNY = PKR 40).

Every family needs to understand what is refundable and what is not before any payment is made to Qingdao University or to MTZ. The refund table below sets out the policy line by line, followed by the five risk flags MTZ flags to every Pakistani family before they commit.

Refund Policy

Application fee (CNY 800)

Non-refundable once submitted to Qingdao University, even if the application is later withdrawn

Tuition fee (CNY 30,000/year)

Refunds for personal reasons are not available while studying at Qingdao University, per the official Qingdao University fees policy. Pro-rata refund only in case of university-side withdrawal.

Hostel / accommodation deposit (CNY 800)

Refundable at graduation if the room is returned without damage; non-refundable in cases of breakage or rule violation

X1 visa rejection

If the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad rejects your child’s X1 visa, MTZ refunds its service fee in full minus documented out-of-pocket processing costs (attestation, courier, embassy fee), per MTZ’s standard agreement

MTZ service fee

Refundable per the MTZ service agreement signed with the family at the start of the engagement; the agreement specifies the milestones at which the fee becomes non-refundable

Risk Flags MTZ Issues Before You Commit

The five risk flags below are the failure points that derail Pakistani MBBS applications to Qingdao University every year. MTZ briefs every family on all five before any payment.

Age Limit

PMDC sets an upper age limit of 25 years at the date of admission for Pakistani students applying to foreign medical universities. Qingdao University additionally requires applicants to be 18 years or above and in good health. If your child turns 25 before the September 2026 admission date, PMDC will not issue the NOC. MTZ verifies the date-of-birth check at Step 1 of the application process.

Application Deadline

Qingdao University’s MBBS application window runs from 1 January to 20 June each year, and the 2026 deadline aligns with this calendar. A late application is rejected outright; there is no extension. Pakistani students miss this deadline most often because the IBCC equivalence and HEC-MOFA-Embassy attestation chain runs longer than families expect. MTZ starts the attestation chain in Step 3 to absorb this risk.

Document Quality

A document pack with missing notarisation, untranslated transcripts, or mismatched name spellings between FSc, passport and matriculation results triggers a Qingdao University file-hold. The hold can run 2 to 4 weeks while corrections are made, and a delayed hold past the deadline costs your child the whole intake. MTZ runs a written pre-submission checklist to catch this risk before the file goes in.

PMDC List Changes

The PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register is updated periodically. A university that is recognised today can be flagged for re-verification in a future PMDC notification. MTZ re-checks the PMDC list at pmdc.pk before placing every single student. Always confirm the current Qingdao University status at pmdc.pk before any payment to MTZ or to Qingdao University.

CSCA Deadline (2026 Intake Mandatory)

The CSCA Mathematics paper is mandatory for Qingdao University’s 2026 MBBS intake. Sittings are scheduled across the year on the official CSCA calendar (typical windows: January, March, April, June, December). A missed sitting means your child has no CSCA score paper at submission, the Qingdao application form does not advance, and your child waits a full year for the next September intake. MTZ books families into the March or April 2026 sitting so the CSCA score is in hand before Qingdao’s 20 June 2026 deadline.

Scholarships for MBBS Students at Qingdao University

Read this section carefully before any agent tells you a scholarship is guaranteed. MTZ’s position on scholarships is stated below in full. It does not change based on what you want to hear.

Some partner universities offer merit-based awards to high-performing MBBS students from their second year, based on academic performance — these are the university’s independent decisions and are not guaranteed at admission. MTZ Global Visa Consultants does not assure or guarantee scholarships for MBBS study in China. For fully funded MS and PhD scholarships, see our Global Scholarships hub.

What MTZ Will Not Promise for Qingdao University

CEO Mubbashir Qureshi brings 25+ years of personal experience to every application MTZ handles. We have seen what happens when consultants overpromise. Here is our position on Qingdao University, in writing.

What MTZ Will Not Do

The eight items below are the promises Pakistani families regularly hear from unqualified agents. MTZ refuses to make any of them.

Admission to Qingdao University is never guaranteed by MTZ before the Qingdao University Admission Office issues the Admission Notice in writing. No agent in Pakistan controls a Qingdao seat.
Final PKR amounts at the time of payment cannot be promised, because the CNY-PKR rate moves day to day. MTZ shows the day-of-payment rate and re-confirms the rupee figure in writing before any transfer.
Your child’s academic performance during the 6-year MBBS programme at Qingdao University depends on your child’s study habits, not on MTZ. Anyone promising graduation marks is misleading you.
Scholarships at Qingdao University are independent decisions of the Faculty of Medicine and the Qingdao Municipal or Shandong Provincial government. MTZ does not assure or guarantee any merit-based award (see Block 17 for the full S5 statement).
PMDC policy changes during the 6-year programme are outside MTZ’s control. MTZ commits only to verifying the current PMDC status at pmdc.pk before placement, not to insuring against future PMDC policy shifts.
X1 student visa decision dates at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad cannot be promised. A clean file usually clears in 4 to 7 working days, but MTZ will not pretend to control the embassy’s calendar.
Clinical placement quality during your child’s hospital rotations at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University depends on the Faculty of Medicine’s rotation roster. MTZ will not promise specific consultants, wards, or shift patterns.
CSCA Mathematics results cannot be promised by MTZ. Your child sits the official csca.cn paper and the score is the score. MTZ books the right sitting, briefs your child, but does not sit the exam for them.

What MTZ Commits To

The six commitments below are written into every MTZ engagement letter for a Pakistani family choosing Qingdao University.

Verification of Qingdao University’s current PMDC status at pmdc.pk on the day your file opens, with the verification screenshot saved into your child’s MTZ file
A written fee breakdown in CNY and indicative PKR before any payment is requested, with the day-of-payment exchange rate reconfirmed in writing per R16h
Direct WhatsApp reachability of MTZ Islamabad and MTZ Lahore for your family across the full 6-year Qingdao University programme, not only until enrolment
The MTZ visa resubmit policy: if the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad rejects your child’s X1 visa for a fixable file issue, MTZ rebuilds and resubmits the file at no additional MTZ service fee
No placement of any Pakistani student at a Chinese medical university outside MTZ’s PMDC-verified set of 29 universities, even if the student requests it
Booking your child into the right CSCA Mathematics sitting (March or April 2026) so the score paper arrives before Qingdao’s 20 June 2026 application deadline, and rebooking at MTZ’s cost if the first registration window is missed for any MTZ-side error

Qingdao University, Campus and City

Where your child studies shapes the full 6-year experience. Here is exactly what the Qingdao University campus and the city of Qingdao look like on the ground.

The Campus

Qingdao University’s main campus sits at 308 Ningxia Road in the southern coastal district of Qingdao city, walking distance from the Yellow Sea coastline and 15 minutes by metro from the Qingdao city centre. The four paragraphs below describe what your child will see, hear, and use every day on campus.
The main academic compound holds 28 colleges plus the Qingdao Medical College (which runs the MBBS programme), serving 41,000+ enrolled students including 600+ international students from 40 countries. The Faculty of Medicine teaching block sits on the same compound as the dormitory wing (Minxing Building), so your child walks from bed to lecture hall in under ten minutes during pre-clinical years.
The Minxing Building international student dormitory is the home base for every MBBS international student at Qingdao University. The College of International Education student affairs office, the international prayer space, the Qingzhen (halal) canteen, and the main university library all sit within a 5-minute campus walk from Minxing Building. The dormitory itself is gated, with 24-hour reception and CCTV.
Library access is 24-hour during exam weeks, and the digital library carries the journal subscriptions Pakistani MBBS students need for the WHO-recognised reading list. The Faculty of Medicine maintains four anatomy labs, a clinical skills simulation centre, and three medical microbiology research laboratories your child uses during pre-clinical years.
The campus carries a single-payment student card system: meals at the Qingzhen canteen, library printing, on-campus transport shuttle, and dormitory laundry are all charged through one card top-up at the College of International Education front desk. Your child does not carry cash for any on-campus transaction.

The City, Qingdao, Shandong

Qingdao is the second-largest city in Shandong, on the eastern coast of China facing the Yellow Sea, with a registered population of 10.3 million. The five paragraphs below set out the climate, transport, airport access, and the Muslim community profile your child enters on arrival.
Qingdao’s climate is temperate maritime with four distinct seasons. Winters dip to minus 4 degrees Celsius in January and February with snow on the ground for two to four weeks; dormitories run central heating from mid-November to mid-March. Summers stay between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius with strong sea breeze that keeps Qingdao significantly cooler than inland Chinese cities like Wuhan or Zhengzhou. Spring and autumn are short and mild, with the cherry blossoms on Mount Lao drawing student day-trips in April.
City transport runs on Qingdao Metro (Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 11, 13) covering the coastal districts, with the Qingdao University main campus on the Line 3 corridor. Buses run from outside the university main gate on a flat-fare card system. DiDi (the Chinese ride-hailing app) is widely used by Pakistani students for late-evening grocery runs and weekend trips, with typical short fares under CNY 25.
The international airport is Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, located 38 km from Qingdao city centre and connected to the campus area by the Qingdao Metro Line 8 plus airport bus. Direct international flights connect Qingdao to Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore (via Beijing or Shanghai transit), Dubai, Doha, and Kuala Lumpur. Total transit time Islamabad to Qingdao runs 9 to 12 hours including one connection.
The Muslim community in Qingdao is led by the Hui ethnic group, with Yi Cong Lu Mosque (云南路清真寺) as the central Friday prayer site. Halal restaurants concentrate in the Shibei and Shinan districts, and the Pakistani Students Association at Qingdao University maintains a shared restaurant map distributed to every new arrival. Friday prayer at Yi Cong Lu Mosque is a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from the main campus.
Qingdao is on China’s tier-two coastal safety index with low reported crime against foreign students, and the municipal record favours a low public-incident profile. The Qingdao University College of International Education maintains a direct line to the local Foreign Affairs and Entry-Exit Bureau, and routes any incident or document issue through that channel within the same working day.

“Qingdao is too extreme a city for Pakistani students to live in.”

Qingdao is a temperate coastal city on the Yellow Sea with winters around minus 4 degrees Celsius and summers around 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, far milder than inland Chinese cities like Wuhan or Zhengzhou. Dormitories run central heating from mid-November to mid-March. Pakistani students already at Qingdao University describe the climate as comparable to Murree or Abbottabad in winter and to Karachi in summer (without the humidity). The Hui Muslim community, Yi Cong Lu Mosque, and Qingzhen halal canteens settle the food and worship questions.

“You can get MBBS in China cheaply without an MDCAT pass.”

PMDC policy requires every Pakistani student applying to a foreign medical institution to hold a valid MDCAT pass for the admission cycle. Without the MDCAT pass, PMDC will not issue the NOC, and without the NOC your child cannot sit the NLE Pakistan on return, which means they cannot practise medicine in Pakistan. Any agent selling ‘MBBS in China without MDCAT’ is selling a degree your child cannot use at home. MTZ refuses every such request.

“MTZ guarantees admission to Qingdao University.”

MTZ does not guarantee admission to Qingdao University or to any of the 29 PMDC-verified Chinese medical universities on its list. The Qingdao University Admission Office issues the Admission Notice on its own decision after reviewing the file, the FSc and MDCAT record, the CSCA Mathematics score paper, and the supporting attestation chain. MTZ commits to a clean, fully-attested, on-deadline submission, which is the strongest controllable input. The final decision belongs to Qingdao University.

“The CSCA exam is optional for Qingdao University 2026 MBBS admission.”

The CSCA Mathematics paper is mandatory for Qingdao University’s English-taught MBBS programme from the 2026 intake, confirmed on the official csca.cn portal and on the published 2026 CSCA required-universities list. A Pakistani applicant without a CSCA Mathematics score paper cannot submit a valid Qingdao University MBBS application. MTZ books Pakistani families into the March or April 2026 CSCA sitting so the score arrives before the 20 June 2026 Qingdao deadline. Any agent claiming CSCA is optional for Qingdao 2026 is misinformed or misleading you.

Q3: Is the MBBS at Qingdao University taught in English?

Yes. Qingdao University runs its MBBS as a 6-year English-taught programme launched in 2006, registered with the World Directory of Medical Schools (School ID F0000391) with English as the primary language of instruction. The Faculty of Medicine teaches every core subject in English. Mandarin is taught alongside for everyday clinical communication during the hospital rotation years.

Q4: Does Qingdao University require IELTS for Pakistani students?

Conditionally. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries provide records of English-medium primary and secondary schooling OR a certificate of English proficiency from a standardised English test such as IELTS or TOEFL. Pakistani FSc candidates from English-medium schools usually satisfy this with their school transcripts. MTZ confirms whether your child needs to sit IELTS at Step 1 of the eligibility check.

Q5: What is the intake date for MBBS at Qingdao University?

Qingdao University offers a September intake only. The 2026 application window runs from 1 January 2026 to 20 June 2026. There is no March intake at Qingdao University. The academic year starts in September with orientation at the College of International Education on the main campus at 308 Ningxia Road.

Q6: What is the difference between MOE-listed and non-MOE universities?

MOE-listed Chinese medical universities teach the full 6-year MBBS in English and do not require an HSK Chinese certificate for clinical progression. Non-MOE-listed universities run a bilingual MBBS with English in pre-clinical years 1 to 2 and Chinese added in the clinical years from Year 3, with an HSK Level 4 certificate required before clinical progression. Both categories are recognised by PMDC where they appear on the PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register. Qingdao University falls in the MOE-listed (13) category, which means your child studies the full 6-year MBBS in English.

Q7: Is Qingdao University safe for Pakistani female students?

Yes. Qingdao University runs separate female floors inside the Minxing Building international student dormitory with a dedicated female warden, controlled access, electronic key-card entry, and 24-hour CCTV in lobbies and corridors. No male visitors are permitted onto female floors at any time. Qingdao city is on China’s tier-two coastal safety index with a low reported crime profile against foreign students. MTZ arranges a parent-to-warden video call before your daughter departs Pakistan.

Q8: What is the NLE and does it apply to Qingdao University graduates?

The NLE is the National Licensing Examination administered by PMDC in Pakistan. Every Pakistani graduate of a foreign medical institution must clear the NLE on return to register with PMDC and start the house job. Qingdao University graduates are eligible to sit the NLE on return because Qingdao University is on the PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register. MTZ runs an NLE preparation tie-up with senior batch alumni so your child returns home with a sitting plan in place.

Q9: How many Pakistani students are currently studying at Qingdao University?

Qingdao University currently hosts 600+ international students drawn from 40 countries, with the Faculty of Medicine holding about 360 international students. Pakistani senior batches sit across MBBS years 1 to 6 at Qingdao University, with an active Pakistan Students Association that runs Independence Day, Iftar, and academic peer-tutoring events. MTZ shares the current Pakistani senior batch contact with every new family before departure.

Q10: Does MTZ charge for the eligibility check?

No. MTZ runs the eligibility check at no charge on WhatsApp Islamabad or WhatsApp Lahore. The check covers your child’s FSc score against Qingdao’s 80% average and 60% per-subject threshold, the MDCAT pass status against PMDC’s current policy, the CSCA Mathematics requirement for 2026, the age limit, and a written summary of next steps. MTZ’s service fee applies only after the family signs the engagement letter for full application processing.

Q11: Is the CSCA exam required for Qingdao University 2026 MBBS admission, and how do we register?

Yes. The CSCA Mathematics paper (数学) is mandatory for Qingdao University’s English-taught MBBS programme from the 2026 intake, confirmed on the official csca.cn portal and on the published 2026 CSCA required-universities list. The exam scope for Qingdao MBBS English is Mathematics only; HSK Chinese is not required. Sittings are scheduled in five windows across the year: January, March, April, June, and December. The last practical sitting for the September 2026 Qingdao intake is the April 2026 sitting, because the score paper must reach Qingdao University before the 20 June 2026 application deadline. Registration is on the official portal at csca.cn. MTZ books Pakistani families into the March or April 2026 sitting so the score arrives in time.

Q12: Does Qingdao University require Chinese language certification (HSK) for the MBBS programme?

No. Qingdao University’s English-taught MBBS does not require an HSK Chinese certificate for admission or for clinical progression. Your child can apply to Qingdao University without any HSK test result. The English-taught programme is taught fully in English from Year 1 through internship Year 6, with Mandarin taught alongside as a supporting subject for everyday clinical interaction during hospital rotations. MTZ still recommends informal HSK 1 or HSK 2 self-study by Year 2 to help your child communicate with Chinese patients during ward rotations, but this is a recommendation, not an admission or progression requirement.
