Academic Requirements (Qingdao University-Specific)
The eight academic conditions below are taken directly from Qingdao University’s 2026 MBBS programme detail page and the PMDC Policy for Pakistani students seeking foreign undergraduate medical admission.
Average score above 80%, with every individual subject above 60% (Qingdao University rule). PMDC minimum is 60% Pre-Medical. The Qingdao threshold is stricter, so it governs the application.
Pakistani students must hold a valid PMDC MDCAT pass for the current admission cycle before any Chinese medical university accepts the application. Confirm the current MDCAT cut-off and validity at pmdc.pk before paying any fee.
Qingdao University’s MBBS English programme appears on the 2026 CSCA required-universities list. Pakistani applicants must pass the CSCA Mathematics paper before submitting the Qingdao application. Subject scope: Mathematics only (数学).
Qingdao University’s MBBS English-taught track does not require an HSK Chinese certificate for admission or for clinical progression. Your child can apply without any Chinese language test result. MTZ still recommends informal HSK 1 or HSK 2 self-study by Year 2 for everyday hospital interaction, but this is a recommendation, not a requirement.

Qingdao University accepts only applicants in good physical and mental health. The two checks below decide whether your child is cleared for enrolment.
Your child must clear the standard Foreigner Physical Examination Form issued by the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad before the X1 student visa is granted. The same form is re-checked at Qingdao Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on arrival in Qingdao. Conditions that disqualify enrolment include active tuberculosis, severe infectious disease, severe cardiac conditions, and mental health conditions that prevent independent study at undergraduate level. Qingdao University reserves the right to defer or refuse enrolment if the on-arrival re-check contradicts the pre-departure form. MTZ books the pre-departure medical at an approved Pakistani panel hospital and walks your child through both checks.

CSCA EXAM, 2026 INTAKE MANDATORY
The China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) became a required admission paper for Qingdao University’s MBBS English programme from the 2026 intake. The exam scope for your child is Mathematics only (数学). HSK Chinese is not required at Qingdao University, only the CSCA Mathematics paper. Sittings are scheduled across the year on the official CSCA calendar (typical windows: January, March, April, June, December). Registration runs on the official CSCA portal at csca.cn. CSCA Mathematics Exam (Mandatory, Pre-Application)
This step is mandatory before any other step proceeds. Your child must pass the CSCA Mathematics paper (数学) and hold the official CSCA score paper in hand before Qingdao University accepts the application form. HSK Chinese is not required at Qingdao University for the English-taught MBBS track, so no HSK certificate is collected at this step. Registration is on the official CSCA portal at csca.cn. MTZ books your child into the March or April 2026 sitting so the score arrives well before Qingdao’s 20 June 2026 deadline. Step 3
Document Pack Preparation
MTZ collects FSc transcript, FSc certificate, matriculation results, passport copy, MDCAT result card, CSCA score paper, parents’ national identity cards, and 12 passport-size photographs. MTZ runs the IBCC equivalence application and tracks it through Karachi or Islamabad office. HEC-MOFA-Chinese Embassy attestation chain is sequenced in this step, not delayed to Step 6.
Step4
Qingdao University Online Application Submission
MTZ logs into the official Qingdao University international student application system at istudy.qdu.edu.cn, fills your child’s information, uploads the document pack, and pays the CNY 800 application fee. The application is submitted within the 1 January to 20 June 2026 window. MTZ saves a screenshot of every submission step in your child’s file.
Step 5
Admission Notice and JW202 Issued
Qingdao University is MOE-listed. A JW202 form is therefore required for your child’s X1 Student Visa application. The Qingdao University Admission Office reviews the file, confirms the CSCA score and academic profile, and issues the original Admission Notice plus the JW202 Visa Application for Study in China form, posted by international courier to your address in Pakistan. MTZ tracks the courier and confirms receipt.
Step 6
Pre-Departure Medical and Foreigner Physical Examination Form
Your child completes the Foreigner Physical Examination Form at an approved panel hospital (Shifa International or a similar Chinese Embassy-recognised facility). MTZ books the appointment, walks your child through the chest X-ray, ECG, blood tests, and vaccination record check, and notarises the form for embassy submission.
Step 7
X1 Student Visa Application at the Chinese Embassy, Islamabad
MTZ assembles the X1 visa file: original Admission Notice, original JW202, attested academic chain, Foreigner Physical Examination Form, passport, and financial proof of family support. The file is submitted at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad through MTZ’s panel visa agent. Visa decision usually issues in 4 to 7 working days for a clean file.
Step 8
PMDC NOC Submission and Pre-Departure Briefing
MTZ submits the PMDC No Objection Certificate application on your child’s behalf at pmdc.pk before departure, files the IBCC equivalence record, and runs a 2-hour pre-departure briefing covering Qingdao city orientation, dormitory rules, halal food map, mosque locations in Qingdao, and the senior batch contact who will receive your child at Qingdao airport.
Step 9
Qingdao Arrival, Registration, and Residence Permit
MTZ Islamabad confirms flight bookings to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. The on-ground senior batch (MTZ Qingdao coordinator) receives your child at arrival, takes them to the international student dormitory at Qingdao University campus on 308 Ningxia Road, walks them through orientation at the College of International Education, and supports the local entry-exit bureau registration for the X1 to residence permit conversion within the mandatory 30-day window.

ECFMG Eligibility (USA Pathway)
Qingdao University’s WFME-recognised accreditation status and MOE-listed standing support ECFMG eligibility for your child, with graduation years 1953 to Current accepted on the WDOMS record. Risk Flags MTZ Issues Before You Commit
The five risk flags below are the failure points that derail Pakistani MBBS applications to Qingdao University every year. MTZ briefs every family on all five before any payment.
Age Limit
PMDC sets an upper age limit of 25 years at the date of admission for Pakistani students applying to foreign medical universities. Qingdao University additionally requires applicants to be 18 years or above and in good health. If your child turns 25 before the September 2026 admission date, PMDC will not issue the NOC. MTZ verifies the date-of-birth check at Step 1 of the application process.
Application Deadline
Qingdao University’s MBBS application window runs from 1 January to 20 June each year, and the 2026 deadline aligns with this calendar. A late application is rejected outright; there is no extension. Pakistani students miss this deadline most often because the IBCC equivalence and HEC-MOFA-Embassy attestation chain runs longer than families expect. MTZ starts the attestation chain in Step 3 to absorb this risk.
Document Quality
A document pack with missing notarisation, untranslated transcripts, or mismatched name spellings between FSc, passport and matriculation results triggers a Qingdao University file-hold. The hold can run 2 to 4 weeks while corrections are made, and a delayed hold past the deadline costs your child the whole intake. MTZ runs a written pre-submission checklist to catch this risk before the file goes in.
PMDC List Changes
The PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register is updated periodically. A university that is recognised today can be flagged for re-verification in a future PMDC notification. MTZ re-checks the PMDC list at pmdc.pk before placing every single student. Always confirm the current Qingdao University status at pmdc.pk before any payment to MTZ or to Qingdao University.
CSCA Deadline (2026 Intake Mandatory)
The CSCA Mathematics paper is mandatory for Qingdao University’s 2026 MBBS intake. Sittings are scheduled across the year on the official CSCA calendar (typical windows: January, March, April, June, December). A missed sitting means your child has no CSCA score paper at submission, the Qingdao application form does not advance, and your child waits a full year for the next September intake. MTZ books families into the March or April 2026 sitting so the CSCA score is in hand before Qingdao’s 20 June 2026 deadline.

Admission to Qingdao University is never guaranteed by MTZ before the Qingdao University Admission Office issues the Admission Notice in writing. No agent in Pakistan controls a Qingdao seat.
Final PKR amounts at the time of payment cannot be promised, because the CNY-PKR rate moves day to day. MTZ shows the day-of-payment rate and re-confirms the rupee figure in writing before any transfer.
Your child’s academic performance during the 6-year MBBS programme at Qingdao University depends on your child’s study habits, not on MTZ. Anyone promising graduation marks is misleading you.
Scholarships at Qingdao University are independent decisions of the Faculty of Medicine and the Qingdao Municipal or Shandong Provincial government. MTZ does not assure or guarantee any merit-based award (see Block 17 for the full S5 statement).
PMDC policy changes during the 6-year programme are outside MTZ’s control. MTZ commits only to verifying the current PMDC status at pmdc.pk before placement, not to insuring against future PMDC policy shifts.
X1 student visa decision dates at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad cannot be promised. A clean file usually clears in 4 to 7 working days, but MTZ will not pretend to control the embassy’s calendar.
Clinical placement quality during your child’s hospital rotations at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University depends on the Faculty of Medicine’s rotation roster. MTZ will not promise specific consultants, wards, or shift patterns.
CSCA Mathematics results cannot be promised by MTZ. Your child sits the official csca.cn paper and the score is the score. MTZ books the right sitting, briefs your child, but does not sit the exam for them.

Qingdao University’s main campus sits at 308 Ningxia Road in the southern coastal district of Qingdao city, walking distance from the Yellow Sea coastline and 15 minutes by metro from the Qingdao city centre. The main academic compound holds 28 colleges plus the Qingdao Medical College (which runs the MBBS programme), serving 41,000+ enrolled students including 600+ international students from 40 countries. The Faculty of Medicine teaching block sits on the same compound as the dormitory wing (Minxing Building), so your child walks from bed to lecture hall in under ten minutes during pre-clinical years.
The Minxing Building international student dormitory is the home base for every MBBS international student at Qingdao University. The College of International Education student affairs office, the international prayer space, the Qingzhen (halal) canteen, and the main university library all sit within a 5-minute campus walk from Minxing Building. The dormitory itself is gated, with 24-hour reception and CCTV.
Library access is 24-hour during exam weeks, and the digital library carries the journal subscriptions Pakistani MBBS students need for the WHO-recognised reading list. The Faculty of Medicine maintains four anatomy labs, a clinical skills simulation centre, and three medical microbiology research laboratories your child uses during pre-clinical years.
The campus carries a single-payment student card system: meals at the Qingzhen canteen, library printing, on-campus transport shuttle, and dormitory laundry are all charged through one card top-up at the College of International Education front desk. Your child does not carry cash for any on-campus transaction.
The City, Qingdao, Shandong
Qingdao is the second-largest city in Shandong, on the eastern coast of China facing the Yellow Sea, with a registered population of 10.3 million. The five paragraphs below set out the climate, transport, airport access, and the Muslim community profile your child enters on arrival.
Qingdao’s climate is temperate maritime with four distinct seasons. Winters dip to minus 4 degrees Celsius in January and February with snow on the ground for two to four weeks; dormitories run central heating from mid-November to mid-March. Summers stay between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius with strong sea breeze that keeps Qingdao significantly cooler than inland Chinese cities like Wuhan or Zhengzhou. Spring and autumn are short and mild, with the cherry blossoms on Mount Lao drawing student day-trips in April.
City transport runs on Qingdao Metro (Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 11, 13) covering the coastal districts, with the Qingdao University main campus on the Line 3 corridor. Buses run from outside the university main gate on a flat-fare card system. The Muslim community in Qingdao is led by the Hui ethnic group, with Yi Cong Lu Mosque (云南路清真寺) as the central Friday prayer site. Halal restaurants concentrate in the Shibei and Shinan districts, and the Pakistani Students Association at Qingdao University maintains a shared restaurant map distributed to every new arrival. Friday prayer at Yi Cong Lu Mosque is a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from the main campus.
Qingdao is on China’s tier-two coastal safety index with low reported crime against foreign students, and the municipal record favours a low public-incident profile. “Qingdao University is not recognised by PMDC.”
Qingdao University sits on the PMDC Recognised Foreign Undergraduate Colleges register, verified live at pmdc.pk on 29 May 2026. Pakistani graduates of Qingdao University’s MBBS programme are eligible to sit the NLE Pakistan on return and register with PMDC on passing. The register is updated periodically, and MTZ re-checks the status before every placement.
“The MBBS at Qingdao University is not in English, your child must learn Mandarin to study.”
Qingdao University runs its MBBS as a 6-year English-taught programme launched in 2006, registered with the World Directory of Medical Schools under School ID F0000391 with English as the primary language of instruction. The Faculty of Medicine teaches every core subject in English, from Systematic Anatomy to Surgery, Internal Medicine and Paediatrics. Mandarin is taught alongside for everyday clinical communication, but it is not the medium of instruction and HSK certification is not required for admission.
Chinese MBBS degrees are not accepted anywhere outside Pakistan.”
Qingdao University’s MBBS is listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools (F0000391) with ECFMG eligibility for graduation years 1953 to Current, accreditation status from a WFME-recognised agency (10 October 2019), and acceptable primary medical qualification status with the UK GMC. Your child can pursue the USMLE path for the United States, the PLAB or UKMLA path for the United Kingdom, the AMC path for Australia, the MCCQE path for Canada, and the DHA / MOHAP / DOH / SCFHS path across the Gulf.
“Qingdao is too extreme a city for Pakistani students to live in.”
Qingdao is a temperate coastal city on the Yellow Sea with winters around minus 4 degrees Celsius and summers around 25 to 28 degrees Celsius, far milder than inland Chinese cities like Wuhan or Zhengzhou. Dormitories run central heating from mid-November to mid-March. Pakistani students already at Qingdao University describe the climate as comparable to Murree or Abbottabad in winter and to Karachi in summer (without the humidity). The Hui Muslim community, Yi Cong Lu Mosque, and Qingzhen halal canteens settle the food and worship questions.
“You can get MBBS in China cheaply without an MDCAT pass.”
PMDC policy requires every Pakistani student applying to a foreign medical institution to hold a valid MDCAT pass for the admission cycle. Without the MDCAT pass, PMDC will not issue the NOC, and without the NOC your child cannot sit the NLE Pakistan on return, which means they cannot practise medicine in Pakistan. Any agent selling ‘MBBS in China without MDCAT’ is selling a degree your child cannot use at home. MTZ refuses every such request.
“MTZ guarantees admission to Qingdao University.”
MTZ does not guarantee admission to Qingdao University or to any of the 29 PMDC-verified Chinese medical universities on its list. The Qingdao University Admission Office issues the Admission Notice on its own decision after reviewing the file, the FSc and MDCAT record, the CSCA Mathematics score paper, and the supporting attestation chain. MTZ commits to a clean, fully-attested, on-deadline submission, which is the strongest controllable input. The final decision belongs to Qingdao University.
“The CSCA exam is optional for Qingdao University 2026 MBBS admission.”
The CSCA Mathematics paper is mandatory for Qingdao University’s English-taught MBBS programme from the 2026 intake, confirmed on the official csca.cn portal and on the published 2026 CSCA required-universities list. A Pakistani applicant without a CSCA Mathematics score paper cannot submit a valid Qingdao University MBBS application. MTZ books Pakistani families into the March or April 2026 CSCA sitting so the score arrives before the 20 June 2026 Qingdao deadline. Conditionally. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries provide records of English-medium primary and secondary schooling OR a certificate of English proficiency from a standardised English test such as IELTS or TOEFL. The CSCA Mathematics paper (数学) is mandatory for Qingdao University’s English-taught MBBS programme from the 2026 intake, confirmed on the official csca.cn portal and on the published 2026 CSCA required-universities list. The exam scope for Qingdao MBBS English is Mathematics only; HSK Chinese is not required. Sittings are scheduled in five windows across the year: January, March, April, June, and December.
